Yesterday I decided to do my own ultra marathon in an area near my home while I'm fairly in shape from the last one. I mean, why not right? I have the time and nothing else was going on. The big wash trail in Catalina, AZ. is an immense wash with trails everywhere - not so much elevation change, relatively flat with some rolling areas. Lots of bikers can use most of the trails as well. Kind of a wild area as well so it's a great area to maybe see some wild animals too. Waking up a 5 am I finally got to the trailhead at 7:15 and it was 38 degrees! Kind of chipper, but by 10 am I was stripping off the layers. By 12:00 it was 70 degrees - perfect running weather.
I ran a total of 28 miles in a little over 7 hours, so I called it good! I was home by 3:00 and in the hot tub at 3:30! Oh how nice was that! The beer also tasted pretty sweet later on as well, of course!
Well, here is a picture I took at the trailhead when I was finished.
Thanks all for your support!
