Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for all the continued support! Last year was great, and now 2013 will be even better!
I started 2013 by completing a new race that I made up myself called the "100 by 100 Challenge 50K Classic". Since my schedule doesn't permit me too do any "official" ski race ultra this year, I decided to make up my own! What the heck, why not!
It was a classic ski race in the Bighorn Mountains on Pole Creek road (basically now a snowmobile route) and in the Pole Creek Ski area. About 80% of this race was not groomed, only packed by snowmobiles so it was rather slow and kind of rough to deal with, however when I went on the actual ski trails, it was quite nice. It took me 6 1/2 hours and I had a total elevation gain of 2800 feet. I had a great day! Highs were in the 30's and not too much sun. A little sticking was had, but not bad overall. What a great workout! My mom gave me energy throughout the whole day so I was well taken care of! Lori and Shady met me at the 11 mile turnaround to give me support and badly need water bottles (thank God).
This is #8 Ultra and another $100.00 donated to Alzheimer's!
