#82 Ultra Acomplished

 Hey all!

I decided to do another one before the big heat up of the summer when I won't be doing many of these.

Too hot in AZ!  Anyway, this ultra yesterday started out at 6 am on the AZ trail in Oracle.  Going first south from tiger mine road for 7.25 miles then back to tiger mine - then up towards the state park for 2 miles and back- then, up the road for 5+ miles and back to get to a 28 mile ultra.  My Strava stopped for some reason after 7.25 miles so all day I had to add my mileage to get to my number!  Oh well, it was a nice cool morning for 4 hours or so then it got somewhat hot on the last 10 miles or so.  The trail gets rocky from tiger mines road so I was slow here and fell a couple of times - but no biggie.

Lori and Shiley met me right when I finished too which was great!  The cold diet coke and cool rag she had waiting for me tasted and felt fantastic!   My time was about 7 3/4 hours on a great breezy day keeping me cool all day.

Here are some pics at the end.  An end to a great long run on the AZ trail!

On 4/12/26 I donated $100.00 to the Shiley Alzheimer's Research Center

#81 Ultra finished!

Hey you all!  Thanks for tuning in!

Yesterday I decided to do another round of my last run in the Honeybee and the Big Wash area near home in the Tucson area.  Starting at around 7 am in great cool conditions for the first 12 miles or so, the sun peaked through the light clouds all day but the heat was just enough to keep the body warm all the rest of the day.  I finished 29 miles at about 2 pm with Lori and the dog waiting for me at the trailhead   I went home and celebrated with a hot tub and a Coors light.  A great day was had by all.  My mother Joan helped me through my running all day even after my ipods and original ipod went buns up halfway through the run.

Thanks to all of you for your support!  Take care!

#80 Ultra!!! - 80% Done with my quest!

Well it's been awhile, but I finally I'm back!  Finishing #80 is a milestone for me.  I'm super happy to be at this stage of my 100 by100 quest.  AND, really lucky but extremely fortunate.  Thank you everyone for helping me make it this far!  I appreciate you all, and LIFE in general, and this beautiful land we live in!

Yesterday I completed this 28 miler near my home basically in and around Honeybee Canyon and the Big Wash trails.  Cold at the start (7:30am) but finished 7 hours later with my wife Lori and dog greeting me at the end of the trail.  Actually a perfect day to run - high in the upper 60's with a nice breeze the whole day.

After a few injuries in the past few months and having to not run my usual Flagstaff to Grand run in September, I was real glad to complete this run.

Thank you all again for your support.  I really appreciate it.
